After living in this area for over 16 years, it is quite incredible that I’ve never been to Temple Newsam, a large estate on the outskirts of Leeds. It is owned and managed by Leeds Council, and they do an excellent job. The house (which we didn’t go in today) is late 18th Century and looks in good nick, and the grounds are by Capability Brown, and therefore cracking for a good walk!! It was brisk cold winter’s day, and was lovely!
