After a weekend with my phone off as the Freeloader doesn’t work with it, I decided to send it back to Firebox. I mentioned that the comments said it worked with the 3GS, and they said they’d remove the comment and give me the free address to send it back.
The moral of the story is that the iPhone 3GS needs a higher charge than 5v, which most chargers don’t give. I expect the Freeloader Pro works, but that’s £70!
Will have to investigate further, or save up!
