We had a very warm trip up to York today on the train from Morley. We went as a Birthday treat for me to see the Mallard 75 celebrations at the National Railway Museum. All the remaining 6 A4 class steam trains, have been gathered together for just a fortnight as a celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the world record breaking speed record for a steam train.

As the media had reported the crowds were immense, and when we got there, 5 minutes before it opened, the queue was massive. Thankfully once they’d opened the doors, we were in within 15 minutes, as we left they were operating the 1 in, 1 out process and apparently the queue was around 1.5 hours!!!

The trains were stunning, as was the new Station Hall renovation which was on show, and photos below show those as well. In here were a number of Royal coaches, which are seriously impressive!!

This was also an opportunity to try out my new camera!!
