Visited Elizabeth Castle on St Helier harbour this morning. Tide up all day so had to use the amphibious ferry to cross which drives into the sea, then sails across, before driving up onto the beach by the castle. Very interesting visit, we had downloaded an audio tour to put onto our iPhones. The castle had many changes, especially during the occupation. There was the hermitage next to the castle which was used by St Helier before the Vikings got him!

Fantastic views back over to Jersey and out to sea on a gorgeous day.

We also went to the maritime museum which is new and superb. At the same place Is the Occupation Tapestry which was made by the Islanders to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of liberation in 1945.
